5-course program: $5,500
The SQL Server Business Intelligence Developer certificate program includes coverage of relational database fundamentals, SQL programming, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), and Power BI. The curriculum provides students with a formidable skillset to tackle numerous business intelligence needs. The program includes comprehensive coverage of SQL syntax including complex queries, as well as creating and using stored procedures, functions, views and triggers.
Students will learn how to deploy and manage SSRS, create and customize reports including Table, Matrix, Parameterized and Linked reports. Students will be introduced to the design and use of data warehouses and the use of SSIS to import/export data. A thorough introduction to SSAS includes creation of data cubes to support business analytics, and syntax for extracting information including the use of MDX to develop Multidimensional models. Students will also learn to use Microsoft's Power BI suite of products to import, analyze, and visualize business data, and to share business intelligence.
Comprehensive hands-on exercises are provided throughout the courses to reinforce learning and develop real competency. A personal facilitator is assigned to you at the start of each course. Your personal facilitator is an instructor who is there to answer questions, assist with any issues that arise, and mentor you through the program to assure success.
Upon completion of the program, students will have developed an appropriate knowledge base for a variety of positions related to database programming, data reporting, and data analysis. Program graduates will have gained an especially strong skillset to pursue an entry level database reporting or business intelligence position at companies which specifically use Microsoft SQL Server.
Our personally facilitated on-demand learning environment gives students the ability to work within their schedule and learn at their own pace to ensure a thorough understanding of SQL databases and SQL business intelligence. The SQL BI Developer certificate program includes streaming lectures, extensive hands-on lab exercises and one-on-one facilitation to assure successful completion. Bright Star's unique approach to student success includes a personal SQL instructor to assure that student courses are completed on time and with a solid understanding of the content. Each student has a dedicated workstation loaded with the software required for exercises. We do not use simulation software or “canned” labs. Learn more about our on-demand training here.
Students have a large amount of career flexibility after completing Bright Star's SQL Business Intelligence Developer program. Program graduates can pursue a data analyst role focused more on business reporting, which can expect an annual entry level salary of $40,000 - $55,000. Students can also pursue a more programming-based SQL role where they likely support software development or business analysts, and these entry level SQL Developers can expect to make $32,000 - $69,000 per year . Students will even be able to pursue technical support positions at software companies, with their SQL querying skills and knowledge of database design serving as valuable assets when investigating support cases.
Job titles can vary as a SQL specialist gains experience, but they all are relatively close to each other in terms of compensation. With expected skill progression and career advancement, program graduates have excellent mid-career salary prospects. SQL Data Analysts can expect to make $60,000 - $101,500 annually (and SQL Business Analysts have similar compensation, if not better). SQL Developers can expect yearly compensation of $60,000 - $107,500 annually.
