Python is one of today's most important coding languages and Python programmers are currently in great demand. The Python Programmer Certificate program teaches students how to create scripts in the Python language that manipulate data, automate tasks and handle errors. The Python certificate program also covers how to access relational databases and make sophisticated data queries using SQL. Through hands-on lab exercises students will also learn to use the IDLE integrated development environment for their python application development.
Students are first taught fundamental programming concepts and then are exposed to important programming techniques such as object-oriented design and handling exceptions (runtime errors). Comprehensive hands-on exercises are provided throughout the course to reinforce learning and develop real competency. A personal facilitator is assigned to you at the start of each course. Your personal facilitator is an instructor who is there to answer questions, assist with any issues that arise, and mentor you through the program to assure success.
Bright Star’s Python Programmer Certificate Program provides a comprehensive knowledge of not only Python as a language, but also coding skills such as SQL and algorithmic programming that are important for career advancement in Information Technology or Software Development.
SQL proficiency is a skill that is often overlooked by many coding bootcamps, despite databases being a crucial component of most large-scale software. Bright Star students gain a solid understanding of relational database design concepts, SQL syntax, and construction of complex SQL queries using a variety of techniques such as unions, subqueries, and aggregations. Coverage also includes the creation and use of stored procedures, functions, views and triggers.
Bright Star Institute also offers a Customer Service course for students who have less than one year's worth of professional experience in an office or corporate work setting. The Customer Support course will train students on communication skills needed in customer-facing roles such as technical support positions, and also hone students' abilities for critical thinking, problem solving, and assisting with sales processes. Students also will work with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software during the course, gaining experience on how to work with different modules of CRM software for various functions such as support issue ticketing or reporting/analytics.
Our personally facilitated on-demand learning environment gives students the ability to work within their schedule and learn at their own pace to ensure a thorough understanding of Python. The Python Programmer Certificate program includes streaming lectures, extensive hands-on lab exercises and one-on-one facilitation to assure successful completion. Bright Star's unique approach to student success includes a personal Python instructor to assure that student courses are completed on time and with a solid understanding of the content. When students complete the Python Programming Certificate program, they will be prepared to take the entry-level Python Certification exam if they so choose. Students also will possess an adequate skillset to gain entry-level employment in a role that utilizes their python skills. Even entry-level Python programmers are compensated well, with starting salaries ranging from $41,000 - $70,000 and opportunities to earn more with standard career and python skill advancement. As their experience and career progresses, a Python programmer can earn over $100,000 annually on average. Program graduates will also have the flexibility to pursue advanced technical support careers, thanks to their toolkit of programming knowledge and SQL querying capability.

Note: Students who have less than one year of professional work experience in an office or corporate setting are required to take a Customer Support & Relations Management prerequisite course before starting their programming classes for this certificate program. The Customer Support course will train students on communication skills and problem-solving abilities needed in customer-facing roles such as technical support positions. Students who have at least one year of work experience and can provide supporting documentation and/or business references may skip this initial Customer Support course if they so choose.
